The DHI-NVR4116HS-4KS3 supports IP camera resolutions up to 12MP across 16 channels, with network bandwidth reaching an impressive 160 Mbps incoming, 160 Mbps recording, and 80 Mbps outgoing when AI is disabled, or 80/80/60 Mbps when AI features are active. This gives installers real flexibility when balancing camera count against analytics needs.
The DHI-NVR4116HS-4KS3 includes strong onboard AI processing. Beyond built-in SMD (Smart Motion Detection), it supports camera-based face detection with attribute recognition covering gender, age group, glasses, expressions, and face masks, plus face recognition across all channels at up to 6 targets per second. Perimeter protection extends across 6 channels, and the recorder also handles people counting, stereo analysis, and heat mapping when paired with compatible AI cameras.
SMD Plus adds a further layer of accuracy, running secondary filtering across 4 channels on the recorder itself and up to 12 targets per second by camera, cutting down significantly on false alerts triggered by leaves, rain, or shifting light. Decoding capability reaches up to 8 channels at 1080p@30fps, giving smooth multi-camera playback even with a full 16-channel system.
Video compression relies on Smart H.265+, H.265, Smart H.264+, and H.264, keeping storage efficient across a larger channel count. The unit includes one SATA HDD bay supporting drives up to 20TB, with backup available through USB device or network. Camera compatibility goes beyond ONVIF to include native support for Panasonic, Sony, Axis, Arecont, Pelco, Canon, and Hanwha devices.
Video output includes simultaneous HDMI and VGA up to 4K (3840×2160) resolution, with flexible multi-screen display layouts of 1, 4, 8, 9, or 16 channels. The network port has been upgraded to Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps) to support the higher throughput a 16-channel system demands.
