The Dahua IPC-HFW2449S-S-LED is a 4MP full-color fixed-focal bullet network camera built for users who want continuous color monitoring without relying on traditional IR night vision. Using a 1/2.9″ CMOS sensor paired with an F1.0 aperture lens, it captures vivid, detailed color footage around the clock, including after dark.
Full-color technology is the defining feature of the Dahua IPC-HFW2449S-S-LED. Minimum illumination reaches 0.004 lux, supported by two warm-light illuminators that extend visibility up to 30 meters. Since the camera stays in color mode continuously rather than switching to black-and-white, it delivers consistently useful footage for identifying people, vehicles, and details in low-light conditions.
Resolution and frame rate offer good flexibility. The camera outputs a maximum of 2688 x 1520 at up to 20fps, or 2560 x 1440 at up to 30fps, letting users balance maximum detail against smoother motion depending on the scene. Video is encoded through H.265 with Smart H.264+/H.265+, keeping bandwidth and storage use efficient.
Smart detection is powered by deep learning. The camera supports IVS perimeter protection, including intrusion and tripwire detection, both with accurate classification of humans and vehicles to reduce false alerts from irrelevant motion. It also integrates with Smart NVR systems for refined intelligent search, extracting and merging event videos for faster review.
Image quality holds up well across demanding conditions. A full 120dB WDR handles strong backlighting, while 3D noise reduction, HLC, and BLC maintain clarity across varied lighting scenes. A built-in microphone captures real-time audio alongside video for added security context.
Storage flexibility is a strength here, with support for FTP, SFTP, and microSD cards up to 256GB. Network protocol support is extensive, covering IPv4, IPv6, HTTPS, ONVIF (Profile S, G, T), CGI, and more, ensuring broad compatibility with third-party systems and VMS platforms.
Security features are built in at a system level, including trusted boot, trusted execution, 802.1x, IP/MAC filtering, and X.509 certificate support, reflecting the more robust protections found in Dahua’s WizSense lineup.
