MB20-VL is a touchless multi-biometric identification terminal from ZKTeco, featuring the company’s innovative Visible Light Facial Recognition technology. Combining fingerprint, face, and card verification in one compact device, this terminal is built for organizations that want a genuinely hygienic, hands-free way to manage attendance and access.

The MB20-VL uses the latest Visible Light facial recognition algorithm to recognize a target at a distance of 30cm to 50cm, automatically activating when it detects a human face within range. This delivers better recognition quality in both speed and accuracy compared to earlier near-infrared facial recognition terminals, with facial recognition speed rated at ≤1 second.

A deep learning algorithm powers the MB20-VL’s recognition engine, meaningfully improving pose angle tolerance and anti-spoofing ability against dynamic environments and various spoofing attempts. This is paired with ZKTeco’s cutting-edge 3D Neuron Fingerprint Algorithm, giving the device genuinely strong dual-biometric accuracy alongside comprehensive support for mainstream card modules.

The MB20-VL supports 100 faces (expandable to 800), 500 fingerprints (expandable to 800), and 500 cards (expandable to a maximum of 800), with a record capacity of 50,000 transactions (expandable to 150,000). A 2.8-inch TFT screen provides clear visual feedback, powered by a 1GHz dual-core CPU with 256MB RAM and 256MB Flash storage, running on a Linux operating system. The device includes a 1MP binocular camera supporting its facial recognition function, using ZKLiveFace V3.5 and ZKFinger V10.0 biometric algorithms for genuinely reliable verification.

Communication on the MB20-VL covers TCP/IP, USB Host, and optional WiFi, giving administrators flexibility for networked deployment, offline data transfer, or wireless installation without running Ethernet cable. Standard functions include ADMS, DST (Daylight Saving Time), Self-Service Query, Automatic Status Switch, T9 Input, Camera, 9-digit User ID, Multiple Verification Methods, Bell Scheduling, and SSR (Self-Service Report).

The MB20-VL includes an access control interface supporting a 3rd party electric lock, door sensor, and exit button, letting it function as a standalone access control device alongside its core biometric identification role. Optional functions extend to 125kHz ID Card (EM) or 13.56MHz IC Card support, plus the WiFi connectivity mentioned above.

Compact at 161.93 x 152.93 x 31.50mm, the MB20-VL runs on a 5V, 2A power supply and operates across a 0°C to 45°C temperature range with 20%-80% humidity tolerance. It’s supported by ZKBio Access IVS (T&A) software for centralized management.
