HG3 is an N300 Wi-Fi xPON ONT from Tenda, built as an all-in-one terminal for Fiber To The Home (FTTH) deployments. Compatible with both EPON and GPON standards, this device lets service providers and installers deliver high-speed internet, IPTV, and wireless connectivity from a single unit connected directly to the fiber network.

The HG3 works with major OLT equipment from Huawei, ZTE, Fiberhome, Nokia, and other manufacturers, giving it broad compatibility across different service provider infrastructures. It supports GPON standards under ITU G.984.1 through G.984.4, along with EPON under IEEE802.3ah, making it a flexible choice regardless of which PON technology a network operator has deployed.

Bandwidth on the HG3 reaches up to 1.25Gbps upstream and 2.5Gbps downstream, giving it genuine headroom for demanding fiber connections. The optical interface operates in Class B+ mode, transmitting at 1310nm and receiving at 1490nm, with a maximum transmission distance of 20km — well suited for connecting homes and small businesses across typical fiber network spans.

Wireless connectivity on the HG3 delivers speeds up to 300Mbps over the 2.4GHz band using 802.11n, supported by 2 external 5dBi antennas. The device supports up to 16 simultaneously linked wireless terminals, along with 1 main SSID and 4 guest SSIDs, giving network operators flexibility to segment traffic for different users or services.

Connectivity includes 1 SC/APC (or UPC) optical port, 1 Gigabit RJ45 LAN port, and 1 Fast Ethernet RJ45 LAN port, covering both high-speed wired connections and standard Ethernet needs. The HG3 supports TR069 remote management alongside Internet and IPTV business types, making it well suited for service provider deployment and centralized management across large customer bases.

Software features include a full DHCP server with client list and address reservation, support for PPPoE, dynamic IP, static IP, and bridge WAN connections, plus multiple WAN connection support. IPv6 is fully supported alongside IPv4, with RADVD, DHCPv6, MLD Proxy, and MLD Snooping rounding out the IPv6 toolkit. Firewall protection includes ALG, IP/Port/MAC/URL filtering, port forwarding, and DMZ, while VPN pass-through covers PPTP, L2TP, and IPsec.

Built for reliable operation, the HG3 operates across a -10°C to 55°C temperature range and draws a maximum of just 12W of power. Compact at 166.6 x 90.5 x 27mm, it carries CE, FCC, and RoHS certification.
